The first preserved mention of craft production on the territory of the company SERW dates back to the year 1578. Subsequently, production at the site undergoes further development through the ownership of the noble Waldstein family, focusing on metal production, until the first significant milestone, which was the entry of Emil Škoda and thus the establishment of the Škoda Works. In the 1970s, Škoda moved its production of electrotechnical equipment for the energy sector from Plzeň to Sedlec, thus beginning a chapter of the development and production of equipment that continues up to the present day.

This information only serves to illustrate that SERW is building on historical foundations of which it is justifiably proud. Thanks to its long-standing and developing expertise in the development and manufacture of disconnectors, earthing switches, and switches, the company is now one of Europe's leaders in products and equipment for distribution and transmission systems.
